The Bunyip, one of SA’s oldest newspapers, was founded in 1863. The Steinborner business at Gawler was formed and opened on January 3rd 1984. It was originally a partnership between Michael Steinborner and Malcolm Hage [the owner of the Holden dealership at Tanunda]. Michael Steinborner was given a 10-year buy-out agreement instigated by GMH and in June 1994 purchased the remaining share of the business at which time the name was changed from Steinhage to Steinborner Holden.
