The Gawler Regional Natural Resource Centre works with our community to live more sustainably and become more mindful of the impact our choices have on the environment around us.

We can all learn something new and we hope that we are able to share some of our knowledge with other people and we want you to teach us something too!

You can sign-up to become an NRC member for just $10 per year. This membership entitles you to a discount at our workshops and events, a vote at our AGM, you’ll receive our e-newsletter and more. For more details visit our website.

Each year we organise two big events. The first is the Understorey Project, an event which provides our community the opportunity to pre-purchase native indigenous plants. These plants are grown from locally sourced seed by Gawler Environment and Heritage Association volunteers. We hold a plant pick-up day in June in each year.

We also organise the Sustainable Living Festival which aims to support local businesses, individuals and organisations who are environmentally conscious and benefit our community. We believe shopping locally is important and this event brings all like-minded people together for a day of celebration! We have stalls, food, live music, kids activities, talks and workshops. It is a lot of fun (and work!) and it just keeps growing every year.
