Eagle Foundry Bed and Breakfast is located in historic Gawler, South Australia’s first country town. Gawler is a picturesque, well planned town which is only 40 minutes drive from Adelaide and at the gateway to the world famous Barossa Valley wine region.
Located within the heritage listed Church Hill area of Gawler, Eagle Foundry B&B (circa 1870) has been carefully restored to reveal the antiquated atmosphere of eras past. Situated on 3/4 of an acre, the property radiates unmistakable country ambiance.
Eagle Foundry Bed & Breakfast offers guests four self contained accommodation suites: (1) Our intimate Bridal / Foundry suite (2) Our larger and totally unique Thomson suite (3) Our modern studio Blacksmiths Suite Anvil and (4) Our most luxurious Blacksmiths Forge Suite.
All suites have private entrances and have access to the stone walled courtyard where guests can relax in the spa or use the 6 burner hooded BBQ to cook up a culinary delight.
Off street parking is available at the rear of the Eagle Foundry where guests can park their vehicles directly adjacent to their suites. Guests are also welcome to enjoy the tranquil gardens or sit and relax in one of the many outdoor relaxation areas.
Eagle Foundry Bed & Breakfast also caters for restricted mobility customers, business representatives and family groups. Wireless internet is available and all suites have LCD televisions and DVD players with movies. Laundry facilities are also available.
All accommodation is located within easy walking distance to Gawler’s historic main street, where you can enjoy a variety of different dining experiences and indulge in over 200 specialty shops, including major department stores. Public transport is nearby and the upgraded train service means you can be in Adelaide within 40 minutes.
Bridal / Foundry Suite
This is our most intimate and romantic suite and is suitable for a couple or a single person.
The double brass bed with canopy is located at one end of this heritage studio type suite and a functional kitchenette at the opposite end completes the experience.
There is also an en-suite bathroom, set of comfortable leather lounge chairs, rustic dining table and slow combustion wood heater located in this suite.
Thomson Suite
This is our largest and most impressive suite and is suitable for up to 6 guests.
The Thomson suite has one bedroom that has a character Australian queen bed plus a LCD television in the room. There is a separate kitchen, lounge room and bathroom in this suite.
The large open plan lounge room has a pool table, single and trundle bed, plus the sofa folds into a double bed if required. Another LCD television plus DVD player with movies are provided in this room and the slow combustion wood fire adds that special charm on those chilly winter evenings. For guests added comfort there is a split system reverse cycle air conditioner as well as two ceiling fans. The Jarrah bar area and granite fireplace surround are impressive features of the room.
The kitchen is functional and has all modern items like, 4 hot plate stove with electric oven, large fridge, pantry and microwave oven.
Blacksmiths Suites Anvil and Forge
Anvil:
This self-contained studio suite features a King sized bed with a leather lounge and a 40 inch LCD Smart TV. The separate bathroom is modern and has a large rain head shower. Other features of this suite include a kitchen with a 4 burner stove, microwave oven and a bar fridge. A feature wall of recycled railway sleeper timbers and the mini orb corrugated iron ceiling make this a rustic and unique suite. There are glass bricks to the rear wall which let in natural light when the curtains are open and the LCD lights can be dimmed to provide subtle mood lighting. Finally there is a split system air conditioner which provides heating and cooling to the suite.
Forge:
This luxury self-contained suite comprises of four separate rooms, a bedroom, lounge/dining room, bathroom and toilet.
The bedroom has a King sized bed, built in wardrobe, split system air conditioner and 40 inch smart LCD TV in the room. The modern bathroom has a luxury spa bath, functional vanity and separate shower with large rain head.
There is a fully equipped kitchen with modern ceramic 4 burner cooktop and under bench oven along with a large 400 litre fridge. The kitchen also boasts a dishwasher, double bowl sink, microwave oven and breakfast bar.
Function Facilities
Eagle Foundry has hosted events like the Gawler Gourmet and Heritage Festival as well as smaller more private gatherings like regional meetings of the Gawler National Trust. We have a small stoned walled building that can cater for your particular function (subject to council consent), whether it be a gathering of friends for a BBQ lunch or a intimate wedding for a few special guests.
