Gawler is a thriving community with a traditional main street, rich heritage, and a mix of residential, commercial, industrial, and
agricultural land uses, surrounded by natural riverine environments and large open spaces. However, our town is growing, particularly in the form of greenfield estates, which makes it important to plan for the next 20 years.
To address this issue, Town of Gawler is commencing the Gawler Growth Framework 2046 – an approach that integrates a new Planning Framework and Integrated Transport Strategy. This project aims to work with the community to provide a direction for growth, ensuring that the delivery of services and infrastructure aligns with the future growth projections to 2046.
The Gawler Growth Framework will build a vision for the town which will plan for the town’s growth, including housing, businesses, infrastructure, access to services and more.
Adelaide-based Jensen PLUS (Planners and Urban Designers) and SMEC (Transport Planning and Engineering Services) have been appointed to undertake this work. With their extensive experience in the growth and delivery of infrastructure in towns, they have a proven track record of working closely with the communities to meet their needs and aspirations.
