A FAMILY LIKE ANY OTHER
A few short months ago the Bigg family were living like most other modern Australian families. Merrin was a busy and vibrant mother of 2 and her partner Rowan was working driving trucks.
Suddenly and without warning Merrin suffered a major stoke. You can imagine the impact this had on their family! As luck would have it Merrin was next door getting their dog when the stroke happened and her neighbour called for an ambulance. Xavier showed maturity and strength over the following days calling family and friends and helping organise things till Rowan could get home. Merrin was lucky to survive such a major stroke and is working hard on her recovery. I’ve heard she hasn’t lost her spark or her sense of humour !!
BUT THERE’ S A PROBLEM
As you can imagine their family life was thrown into termoil. Rowan has had to take time off of work, and learn how to run the family home (ask him about the school hair/ hat story haha) and Merrin has embarked on what will be a lengthy rehabilitation! Even with help from family and friends the family need many things like rails and aids around the house, care and support at home and transport to help with shopping, school runs and many other things we take for granted. These things all cost alot of money and that’s where we come in.
HERE’ S WHAT WE’ RE DOING ABOUT IT
We want to show this young family that they are not alone! We’re banding together to raise money to take some of the finacial burden off of them so Merrin can focus on her recovery!
In Septmeber we are running a Bigg Bogan Bingo Fundraiser night to have some laughs are raise some money. We will also have some lucky squares and online auctions getting closer to the night. Check out our Facebook Event!

For those of you who can’t make it to the Bingo night or the family and friends living interstate, this is the perfect opportunity for you to offer your financial support.
