After the success of last year’s launch with Aussie Cricketing legend Darren Lehmann, we are so pleased we have two more high profile speakers from the cricketing world.  This year our special guests are Darcie Brown, the current Australian Test, ODI and T20 player and Henry Olonga, the former Zimbabwean International test and ODI player.  Both their careers are built on their quick bowling abilities, and we have entitled the evening ‘The two quicks’.  Both have inspiring stories, Darcie as an elite athlete breaking into the top levels of women’s sport and Henry as a man driven by conviction to stand up to the Government in Zimbabwe, his book Blood, Sweat and Treason is a great read.    More information is available in the Facebook post featuring Senior Seargent Rob Mowday and myself.  Follow the link to catch this short film   https://www.facebook.com/RiversideGawler/videos/2146297995720450

As usual the Hope Cup 2024 effort will be raising funds for rough sleepers and those at the risk of homelessness in Gawler and the surrounding region.  This year our focus is on safe sleeping (looking at sleeping pods, longer term accommodation and as always appropriate support for those wanting to escape life on the streets).

The event will be on Friday the 14th of June at the Gawler and Barossa Jockey Club.  Tickets are $75 plus booking fee, or you can buy a table of ten and get one place for free.   The attached poster gives more details and also contains the QR code for links to purchase tickets.  But you call also follow the link below.
