Lifeline Country to Coast SA Inc

Goods sold / Donations accepted: Books, Clothing, Shoes, Manchester Lifeline is a national charity providing all Australians experiencing a personal crisis with access to 24 hour crisis support and suicide prevention services. We’re committed to empowering Australians to be suicide-safe through connection, compassion and hope. Our vision is for an Australia free of suicide. Lifeline was established in Port Pirie in 1977. In 1983 Lifeline Whyalla opened, closely followed by our Lifeline Port Augusta branch opening in 1985; collectively known as Lifeline Upper Spencer Gulf. In 2008 the organisation became known as Lifeline Country to Coast – which more clearly defines our service area. Lifeline Country to Coast SA is one of 42 independent accredited Lifeline centres across Australia. We are a non-profit organisation and attract broad based community support for a range of services. With a volunteer base of over 200 people we operate 11 Lifeline Retail outlets and bookshops across our service area. Our Lifeline Retail outlets provide good quality pre-loved clothing, books and household items; the income generated from Lifeline Retail support the provision of community suicide awareness education across our service area. Eldercare Evanston Park

Eldercare Evanston Park was built in 2008. It incorporates dementia-friendly architecture and interior design and a warm, welcoming environment. Evanston Park is one of our larger facilities providing 100 individually air-conditioned single rooms in modern, spacious surroundings. Evanston Park is innovative in its approach and was chosen as the first facility to roll out Eldercare’s new Dementia Excellence Program. Evanston Park has landscaped gardens, some of which have raised gardens beds for resident use through our gardening program, a gazebo area for BBQs and family functions and an abundance of outdoor seating. The facility features enclosed courtyard gardens as well as serene water features. Our expansive first floor balcony, with views of the Hills, is used during weekly ‘happy hours’ and for regular social barbeques. Residents in our specialist memory unit enjoy a secure sensory garden. Meals are cooked on-site daily by a chef. A continental breakfast is provided Monday – Saturday with a cooked breakfast offered on Sundays. There is a choice of two courses for lunch and three courses for evening meal. Home baked items are provided daily. An internet kiosk is available for residents to utilise with assistance from volunteers. Lifestyle In addition to our comprehensive clinical […]

Gawler Community Corrections Centre

Community Corrections Role The court can sentence adult offenders to serve penalties in the community rather than send them to prison. Many of these offenders require to be managed, monitored and supervised. The oversight of these offenders is the responsibility of the community corrections centres who supervise over 6000 people in the community on any given day. We also supervise offenders who are released on Parole or Home Detention to ensure that they follow the conditions of their release. When supervising offenders in the community we apply a risk based model to offender supervision whilst also promoting a rehabilitation approach. The evidence-based approach promotes a balance between compliance and rehabilitation. Who community corrections supervise We are only responsible for adult offenders; those over the age of 18. Young offenders are the responsibility of Youth Justice, the Department of Communities and Social Inclusion.
