An update has been made to public activity restrictions in South Australia.
This new Direction comes into effect as of 0001 Wednesday 5 August 2020.
The new Direction provides an update to the restrictions currently in place for gatherings across South Australia.
Changes to defined public activities and special compliance rules:
- Alcoholic beverages may be consumed by spectators at sporting events if the spectator remains seated;
- Food and beverages (including alcohol) must be consumed by patrons while seated at tables that are physically separate from any bar or are where orders are taken;
- Food and beverages at recreational facility (eg mini-golf, pool hall, tenpin bowling, high ropes course, etc.) must be consumed at an area separate from a bar/where orders are taken and within the group that are attending the facility; and
- Any shared equipment and frequently touched surfaces at a recreational facility must be cleaned between use by different individuals or groups.
Businesses involved in a Defined public activity must have a COVID-Safe Plan in place in order to trade. Local police are commencing compliance audits of all relevant businesses to check they have a COVID-Safe Plan on site. If you have not completed a COVID-Safe Plan and do not have this available at your premises, or do not comply with current Directions, you can be directed to cease trading until one is completed and able to be shown to an authorised officer, or fined up to $5,000.
