  • Gawler BMX Club

    Situated at Elliot Goodger Memorial Park, on Gawler River Road at Willaston, the Gawler BMX Club is an all-ages, welcoming local BMX Club, affiliated with BMX SA. Gawler BMX Club have first aid and accredited officials at all club events. Run entirely by volunteers, the club relies heavily on grants, donations and sponsorship. Gawler BMX Club Inc. is a community sporting organisation, striving to provide a good family atmosphere for children and their parents alike. Their goal is to develop the skills of their riders, foster good sportsmanship and a sense of fun whilst still being competitive. BMX Australia licenses that are acceptable at Gawler BMX Club include mini-wheelers, sprocket, 4 month, open and club licenses. Only current licenses will be accepted.   • Gawler Visitor Information Centre

    Gawler is a very welcoming and accessible town with a number of self-walking and self-driving tours provided at the Visitor Information Centre. These include Church Hill State Heritage Walking Tour, Gawler Historic Main Street Walking Tour, Gawler Driving Tour, E.H. Coombe Walking Tour and Gawler River Paths – Tapa Pariara. Gawler’s parks, gardens and riverine environments lend themselves to self-discovery and the town has a number of bike paths linking them together as well as connecting to tourist precincts. For those interested in being shown around our wonderful town, the Centre offers guided walking tours that provide cultural, historical and contemporary interpretation of Gawler’s heritage areas.     Gawler’s walking trails are designed for self-discovery but guided tours are also available. Both options provide journeys past significant heritage architecture as well as through the beautiful parks, gardens and reserves that line the river banks.   • Gawler Community Gallery

    The Gawler Community Gallery is housed in the Historic, Heritage Listed, “Old Station Masters House”. The Gawler Community Gallery is an initiative between: Gawler Arts and Craft Community Town of Gawler Council Gawler Lions Club Adelaide Metro Arts S.A. It was Officially opened on the 26th of February 2006 and is run entirely by volunteers. The Gawler Community Gallery strives to ensure the public enjoys a quality venue for the Arts.   • Parks & Playgrounds

    The natural environment features heavily in Gawler’s planning and settlement. There are many parks, gardens and reserves that provide a range of activities for visitors. Many of these open spaces are on Gawler’s river corridors making them picturesque locations for picnics. The lush green lawns, ample shaded areas, playgrounds, barbeques, recreational equipment and walking paths within Gawler’s parks, gardens and reserves make for a wonderful day out.   • Old Telegraph Station Museum

    Built in 1860 of local stone as a telegraph station, designed by the Colonial Architect. The museum portrays the local history of Gawler and district with displays of objects in context, located in a Heritage listed building this is a fine two-story stone structure initially built to house a telegraph office and first used in 1861. Subsequent uses include a school of mines and an electoral office, and most recently for the Gawler Museum. Significant items in the museum’s collection include: a Triola, Aoelian Orchestralle, box piano, Paternosters’ musical instrument, John McKinlay’s travelling chests, Timer fashion dresses and Hoffman’s pottery.   • Gawler Aquatic Centre

    The Gawler Aquatic Centre is located adjacent to the North Para River near the Willaston Bridge surrounded by River Red Gums and spacious lawns. The lower part of the grounds of the Centre is a designated flood plain. The Centre comprises of three swimming pools, a 50 metre seven lane pool and two smaller pools – a Learn to Swim pool and Toddlers pool. All three pools are heated, with the 50 metre pool heated to 27 degrees and the two smaller pools heated to 32 degrees. The Gawler Aquatic Centre provides a range of activities including lap swimming, learn to swim and fitness programs and is the home to the Gawler Amateur Swimming Club.   • Clonlea Reserve

    Clonlea Park is located on the banks of the North Para River at Willaston. The large recreation reserve is the perfect area to bring the family and friends to for a relaxing day out.   • Gawler Sport & Community Centre

    Want a fun and friendly place to take the kids to enjoy a variety of sports and activities? Then the Gawler Sport and Community Centre is the place for you. The Centre hosts school holiday activities, martial arts, roller skating, art groups, fitness classes, inline hockey, birthday parties and much more. The Gawler Sport and Community Centre is part of the Gawler Oval Complex on Nixon Terrace, Gawler and is bordered by the South and North Para rivers. The Centre has more to offer than just fitness and court facilities including the historic Exhibition Hall constructed in the 1880s and still being used today for events and meetings.
