The 2015 Gawler Jazz Festival is fast approaching! The Festival in its third year is an initiative of the Gawler Business Development Group to show case Gawler’s charming heritage and dining. We are looking forward to a big weekend with the Gawler Jazz Festival, Rotary Village Fair and the Sustainable Living Festival on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th November.
This year we are very excited to have ‘South Aussie with Cosi’ host Andrew Costello, officially launch the 2015 Gawler Jazz Festival. The event will be filmed over the weekend and footage is expected to be aired on Channel 9 in September 2016. The official launch will be held at the Prince Albert Hotel Friday 6th November and feature the popular Gypsy Jazz band, Various Nefarious.
The Festival will commence with the Rotary Village Fair on Saturday 7th (in Pioneer Park), a fun family event, featuring the Adelaide City Jazzmen to liven the atmosphere. The Gawler Jazz Festival will be held across ten Gawler locations including; Rotary Village Fair (Pioneer Park), Eagle Foundry B&B, the Exchange Hotel (Rooftop Jazz), Prince Albert Hotel (with Jazz Jam), The Golden Fleece (boutique beer tasting), The Kingsford Hotel, Café Nova, Alchemy Café, NAB and the Sustainable Living Festival.
The Gawler Jazz Festival features a variety of Jazz genres including Dixieland, Traditional, Swing, Gypsy, Soul, Blues, Folk and more! Appearing bands and musicians include; the Adelaide City Jazzmen, Dukes of Jump, Various Nefarious, Soul’D, Bonnie Lee Galea’s Jazz in Cheek, Two Bugs and A Roach, ‘The Voice’ contestant Renee Pounsett and several local talents such as Ryan Lague, MGB, JP and Mossy, Northern Harvest and the Gawler Town Band. It should be a fabulous weekend!
